Benefiting The Children's Medical Center of Dayton

The Ghost N Goblin 5k has been a Halloween tradition for 24 years! The 2009 GNG, presented by the Ohio River Road Runners Club, is expected to be the best and biggest GNG ever! Please join us for this special celebration of running, family, and community!

WHEN:  Tuesday, October 26, 2010. The race starts at 6:30PM.

LOCATION:  RiverScape MetroPark, 111 East Monument Avenue, (downtown) Dayton, OH 45402.

PACKET PICK-UP:  Packet pickup is at Antioch Shrine Center, 107 East First Street, next to Memorial Hall.  Please avoid the race day rush and pick up your packet on Monday October 26 from 12:00PM (NOON) - 7:00PM.  Race day pickup is available on Tuesday, October 27 from 5:00PM - 6:15PM.

COURSE:  The flat 5k (3.1 mile) loop starts and finishes at RiverScape on Monument Avenue.  Come dressed as a runner – or dress up for Halloween!

PARKING:  Free parking is available at PMI lots and next to the Wolpert Building on Monument. 

REGISTRATION:  Register online at http://www.getmeregistered.com/GhostGoblin or download the mail-in entry form belowLate registration Monday from noon until 7:00PM and Tuesday from 4:30PM until 6:00PM.  Please try to register or pick up your packet by Monday to avoid the heavy crowds.

SHIRTS:  The first 2500 entries will receive a unique new-for-2009 long-sleeve technical shirt with key pockets.

AWARDS:

  • TOP 3 Overall Male and Overall Female.
  • TOP 3 Overall Male & Female Masters (40+), Grand Masters (50+), and Seniors (60+).
  • TOP 3 Four-Person Teams in each division: male, female, and co-ed.
  • ALL 8 & under and TOP 5 in Male and Female age divisions: 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.

Awards will be presented during the post-race party immediately following the race.  Awards not claimed on race day may be picked up at Up and Running Fitness Shoes and Apparel, 6123 Far Hills Avenue, during normal business hours through Tuesday November 10, 2009.

POST RACE PARTY:  Please join us immediately following the race at RiverScape MetroPark for a fun-filled post-race celebration including free Domino’s pizza, refreshments, DJ music and entertainment, awards ceremony with Master of Ceremonies Natasha Williams from WHIO-TV, and great socializing with fellow members of our excellent running community!

COSTUME AWARDS:  Costume judging and awards for the five best costumes will be done at the stage in RiverScape MetroPark at 6:00PM on Race Day.

RACE RESULTS:  Race results will be posted online at www.onlineraceresults.com.

SCORING:  All participants will be issued a timing chip. You are responsible for wearing your chip on your shoe. NO CHIP = NO RESULTS = NO AWARD. YOU MUST RETURN YOUR CHIP AFTER THE RACE. If you don’t run/walk or don’t finish, you must return the chip in person at the race or by mail in the envelope provided.

RULES:  Baby joggers and dogs are prohibited.  Walkers with strollers are welcome (please respect the safety of those around you).  Obey all instructions from race and public safety officials.  Headphones are strongly discouraged. Please be sure to wear your timing chip on your shoe during the race and to return it at the finish.
