Frosty 14 Mile Trail Run
Saturday, February 25 2012, 9:00am

Trail Series Race: Everyone is welcome to run.  Races are stand alone events. (Trail Series Info)

NEW COURSE for 2012!

Many moons ago this race was single loop course around the lake.  In 2005, a swinging bridge was condemned forcing the out and back course that has been used for the last 7 years. This year, we have returned to the single ~14 mile loop course that uses the well marked yellow trail.

Starting at the visitor center, we will travel across the dam first (.7 miles road with large gravel shoulder) to the spillway single track.  A short climb into the gorge trail, to the creek crossing (you probably will get wet).  You will run through a small village, run on an abandoned road, some nice old growth, and some ugly new growth.  At mile 5.5 or so, you will hit SR73 for a 1 mile road run to the 6.5 mile section to the finish... which is 96.49343% single track and rolling. Due to the season, weather can be a factor making the Frosty a real challenge.

- The 2007 course was COLD and 4 inches of crusty snow made for sore and floppy ankles!
- 2008 was chilly and muddy
- 2009 was cold and fast
- 2010 was cold with 1" of snow
- 2011 32f good conditions overall
