WHAT: Dawg Gone Long Run 50 Mile Trail Race  (COURSE MAP)  6:30a

WHERE: Caesar Creek State Park, Start/Finish - 50 Springs Parking Area (Course map below)

3 loops of 16.4 miles of some of the best single-track around Caesar Creek lake south of SR 73.  The largest hill is about 80', however the elevation changes are substantial due to almost constant rollers. Approx 990'of "rolling" per lap.

Lastest Update (09/10):

We will have 2 "manned" aid stations at the start/finish and at the Day Lodge. Any drop bags will be taken to the Day Lodge (Middletown Rd on map). These two aid stations will have Gu's, Water, Gatorade, Bottled water, Peanut-butter and Jelly sandwiches, Peanut-butter crackers, pretzel rods and an assortment of Pepsi products. The other "unmanned" stations (I will visit them every 30 minutes or so) will have Water, Gatorade, Pretzels and something sweet... Fruit Snacks seem to be a favorite.  If you need to drop just stop at one of the aid stations and we will get you back to the start. We have custom awards for the top 3 male/female and when you finish you can order a custom shirt for $15.  Co-Director Andy is also creating a map with directions so that any support / family member can easy see you at 5 places along the course.
Remember to bring a hand held light or other light for the first 40-50 minutes.  We will be marking the first 3-5 miles with reflective tape.  The first 2 miles are going to be fun in the dark!  You can drop your lights at any aid station... I will get them back to the start.

• Start at the Fifty Springs picnic area and head counter-clockwise down the trail (passing the start area/aid station) and end up at SR 73  (Aid #1).
• Take SR 73 across the lake, hop the guardrail (watch your knees!) and head down the trail to Furnas Shores.
• From Furnas Shores continue to the day lodge (Aid #2)
• From the day lodge travel to the Visitor Center.
• Take Clarksville Road across the Dam to the Flat Fork picnic area. (Aid #3)
• Pick up the trail and head toward Pioneer Village and the next aid station (Aid #4)
• Leave the Pioneer Village and head to the start/finish area to complete the loop.
• Repeat two more times and you are done.

Bring a headlamp or flashlight for use in the first hour of the race. Reflectors will be used in the first 4 miles.
Miles between aid stations: 3.14, 4.70, 3.22, 2.96, 2.38
Unique awards for top 3 overall Male / Female.
All finishers will be able to order a shirt after the race for $15-20.
Final Lap must be started before 3:45p  (approx 18 minute miles)
