October 21 - 29th Annual Ghost N Goblin 5k Run/Walk

Benefiting The Children's Medical Center of Dayton

The Ghost N Goblin 5k has been a Halloween tradition for 29 years! The 2014 GnG, presented by the Ohio River Road Runners Club, is expected to be the best and biggest GnG ever! Please join us for this special celebration of running, family, and community!

Great post race party with Domino’s pizza, refreshments and a D.J. Unique long sleeve-jacket
for the first 3000 registered.

WHEN: Tuesday, October 21. The race starts at 6:30PM.

PACKET PICK-UP:
Packet pickup is at Memorial Hall, 107 East First Street, next to Antioch Shrine Center.  Please avoid the race day rush and pick up your packet on Monday, October 21 from 12:00PM (noon) - 7:00PM.  Race day pickup is available on Tuesday, October 22 from 12:00PM (noon) - 6:25PM.

COURSE: The flat 5k (3.1 mile) loop starts and finishes at RiverScape on Monument Avenue.  Come dressed as a runner – or dress up for Halloween!

PARKING: Free parking is available at PMI lots and next to the Woolpert Building on Monument.  See Attached Map for parking locations.


REGISTRATION:

Online Registration will be available.

Late registration at Packet Pick-up Monday from noon until 7:00PM and Tuesday from noon until 6:15PM.  Please try to register or pick up your packet by Monday to avoid the heavy crowds.

SHIRTS: The first 3000 entries will receive a unique long-sleeve jacket.  A sizing chart is available as an attachment at the bottom of this page.

AWARDS:

  • TOP 3 Overall Male and Overall Female.
  • TOP 3 Overall Male & Female Masters (40+), Grand Masters (50+), and Seniors (60+).
  • TOP 3 Four-Person Teams in each division: male, female, and co-ed.
  • ALL 8 & under and TOP 5 in Male and Female age divisions: 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.

**Come dressed as a runner or dressed up for Halloween! Costume judging and awards for best costumes.**

Awards will be presented during the post-race party immediately following the race.  

To register as a team for Ghost N' Goblin, you must have 4 members!

POST RACE PARTY: Please join us immediately following the race at RiverScape MetroPark for a fun-filled post-race celebration including free Domino’s pizza, refreshments, DJ music and entertainment, awards ceremony with Master of Ceremonies Gabrielle Enwright from WHIO-TV, and great socializing with fellow members of our excellent running community!

COSTUME AWARDS: Costume judging will be done at the stage in RiverScape MetroPark at 6:00PM on Race Day. Over 100 awards will be given out in youth. adult, and group divisions.

RACE RESULTS: Race results will be posted online at www.onlineraceresults.com.

SCORING: All participants will be issued bib with a built-in timing chip. You are responsible for wearing your bib on the front of your body. NO BIB = NO RESULTS = NO AWARD. 

RULES: Baby joggers and dogs are prohibited.  Walkers with strollers are welcome (please respect the safety of those around you).  Obey all instructions from race and public safety officials.  Headphones are strongly discouraged. Be sure to wear your timing bib on your front during the race. .
