Join us for the ORRRC Turkey Hunt Orienteering Challenge—a fun test of speed, navigation, and strategy!
🧭 What is Orienteering?
It’s an outdoor adventure sport where participants use a detailed map and compass to navigate through a series of checkpoints. Think of it as a mix of cross-country running and treasure hunting!
🧭 How It Works:
Each control (checkpoint) is worth different point values.
Find as many as possible within the 2-hour time limit to maximize your score.
Penalty for going over time limit: Lose your highest point control plus 10 points per minute late.
📚 New to the sport?
Check out the Orienteering Rookie Crash Course at OCIN —a great training resource.
✨ Pre-Race Training (Optional):
At 11:30 AM, the Miami Valley Orienteering Club will offer a voluntary intro session—perfect for newcomers or anyone wanting a quick refresher.
